THAI holds back-up plan during Suvarnabhumi runway repair works

BANGKOK, 16 June 2012 – The country’s flag-carrier has set up back-up plans to ensure its smooth operations while Suvarnabhumi Airport runways are under repair.

 
Thai Airways International Managing Director for Ground Services Business Unit Danuj Bunnag said that the airlines has a contingency plan in place during June 11th and August 9th, when Suvarnabhumi Airport closes parts of its runways for maintenance.

Mr.Danuj stated that THAI has collaborated with Airports of Thailand (AOT) and Aeronautical Radio of Thailand as well as other related agencies to facilitate any flight that may experience problems in landing.

He stated that THAI has also prepared Donmuang Airport and some other airports as its back-up landing fields, if needed.

The airlines’ Managing Director assured that all facilities have been arranged for passengers, who may need to change their travel schedules.

Mr. Danuj added that passengers on Thai Airways, who are scheduled to travel during this period should arrive at Suvarnabhumi at least 80 minutes before departure to avoid any travel inconvenience, if happened.
