BANGKOK, 24 April 2012 – A German international trade fair organizer has invited Thai mirror and glass entrepreneurs to attend the Glasstec 2012 and Solarpeq 2012 in Germany.
Representatives from Messe Duuml;sseldorf yesterday visited Thailand to promote the Glasstec 2012 and Solarpeq 2012, which will be held in Dusseldorf, Germany, on October 23-26.
Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) Chairman Payungsak Chartsuthipol said these two international events, showcasing glass production and solar energy innovations, are vital to the Thai private sector’s development to add value to their products.
He explained that the glass industry is important to the overall Thai economy, as they are used as food, drink, medicine, and cosmetics containers. He added the mirror and fiberglass sectors are also vital to the real estate industry for the construction of buildings, malls, and houses.
With its quality as heat insulation, fiberglass is widely used in the vehicle production, for which Thailand is the regional hub.
Glasstec 2012 is considered the biggest event in the world in glass and mirror industry. Last year’s event saw over 1,300 exhibitors and 44,000 visitors. This year, it will be held concurrently with the Solarpeq 2012, which will showcase equipment, tools, and latest technology in solar energy.
