BANGKOK, 23 April 2012 Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul is scheduled to attend the 19th ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting (AEMM) in Brunei during April 26-27.
The 19th AEMM meeting, which will take place in the Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei during April 26-27, will see the endorsement of the Bandar Seri Begawan Action Plan which aims to promote the partnership between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Euroean Union (EU), between the years 2013 and 2017. The meeting will also cover regional and global issues of current interest, the discussion of the ASEAN-EU Free Trade Agreement, the exchange of opinion on the current global economic and financial situation as well as the structure of the international relations within the Southeast Asian region with ASEAN at the center.
On this occasion, Mr. Surapong will also address the topic of traditional security challenges and insist to the member countries that Thailand will give full cooperation to ASEAN and EU member countries in promoting the formation of the ASEAN Community in 2015.
