BANGKOK, 22 March 2012 – The Land Transport Department has organized a seminar to raise awareness on road safety among public transport operators, with the goal to help reduce road accidents during the Songkran Festival.

Under the campaign to promote road safety and reduce road accidents, the Department held a seminar to prepare bus drivers and their vehicles for the Songkran holidays, which usually see heavy road traffic.

The Land Transport Department announced that it will install radar speed guns on highways, motorways, and toll ways from April 1st onwards. It said that most accidents during Songkran last year were caused by speeding and unequipped vehicles.
