BANGKOK, 20 March 2012 – The flood-battered Saha Rattana Nakorn Industrial Estate in Ayutthaya province is back to its normal operations and fully ready for massive orders of auto parts.

Governor of Ayutthaya Witthaya Phiewphong said TS Tech (Thailand), a major manufacturer of auto parts in Saha Rattana Nakorn Industrial Estate, had already started supplying parts to Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. again after having to halt its production during the flood crisis last year.

At present, 24 out of 46 enterprises in the flood-ravaged industrial estate or 52% have resumed their operations and more than 9,000 out of 12,176 workers have been back to work. Full production is expected within June 2012.

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand Narapoj Thiewthanom has confirmed both domestic and foreign investors in the industrial estate still maintain their production bases there and are confident in the government’s flood prevention plans. Mr Narapoj also said he believed the flood barriers being built around industrial estates would be able to prevent the premises from possible flooding in August this year if they were completed in time.
