BANGKOK, 16 March 2012 – The Annual Red Cross Fair 2012 will be organized to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s 80th birthday. The event is scheduled for 30 March – 7 April 2012 at the Royal Plaza in Bangkok. Proceeds will go to the Thai Red Cross Society to help flood victims.

According to the Thai Red Cross, more than 200 organizations will join the fair this year to sell goods, publicize their activities, and entertain fair-goers. The fair’ biggest highlights will traditionally be lucky draws and the Red Cross Raffle. Products from royal projects and 76 Provincial Red Cross Chapters will also be available for purchase at the fair.

In addition, this year’s annual Red Cross Fair will feature a booth contest under the concepts of “HM the Queen’s Birthday Celebration,” as well as the “Miss and Mr. Red Cross Youth Ambassadors.” The winners of the latter category will represent the Thai Red Cross Society in publicizing the organization’s activities among youths. Another highlight is the selection of eight outstanding Red Cross’ supporters who will receive trophies in person from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at the fair.
