BANGKOK, 3 October 2011 – The Government Public Relations Department (PRD) is ready to adjust its television and radio timetables tomorrow in order to add a temporary program that informs the public of the flood situation nationwide.

PRD Deputy Director-General Theerapong Sodasri has chaired a meeting with directors of concerned agencies under the department’s supervision with an agenda to mull over the rearrangement of the timetables of TV and radio programs on the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT) and Radio Thailand.

The new air times, to be imposed from tomorrow onwards, will allow a 24-hour flood report program to be broadcast live from affected areas across the country upon coordination with local PRD staff. Through the program, people will also be able to phone in to report their situation and request assistance.

The flood update program will continue to be on air until normalcy has returned in all locations.
